Fire Bug Strikes At Britton's Hill

The fire bug has struck again, this time at Britton's Hill, St. Michael. One timber dwelling was destroyed by fire just before 0500 hours this morning (June 27). A second house was also extensively damaged by the blaze, two fire tenders from the Bridgetown Fire Station under the command of acting Station Officer Denton Foster responded.

Major Grass Fire At Hothersal

A large grass fire located in the Belle, Friendship and Hothersal, St. Michael area has kept firefighters and resources busy for several hours. The fire which started sometime after 1300 hours today has already consumed several acres and is still currently in progress. (Images: BFF/JP)

Junior Fire Cadet Programme - Registration

The Barbados Fire Service invites children between the ages of 12 and 15 to register for the Junior Fire Cadet Programme. It will be held at Harrison College, Crumpton Street, St. Michael, beginning on Sunday, July 13.

Courses include First Aid, Water Survival and Rescue. To download application forms, please visit Application forms must be returned to the Bridgetown Fire Station, Probyn Street, St. Michael, by Friday, June 27.

House Fire At Venture, St John

A stone and timber dwelling located at Venture, St. John was extensively damaged by fire around 0808 hours today (June 17). Two fire tenders under the command of Divisional Officer Ricardo Gittens and Station Officer Gordon Boxill responded to the blaze. A second home also received minor damage as a result of this fire.

Motor Vehicle Accident At Road View

A motor vehicle accident which involved a Transport Board bus and two cars at Road View, St Peter this morning left four people with injuries. One woman was trapped in her car and had to be extricated by members of the Barbados Fire Service using the Jaws of Life. Fire officers under the command of Divisional Officer Lloydson Phillips responded to the incident.

Car Burst Into Flames After Accident

A motor car burst into flames after colliding with a sugar cane trailer on Highway 2A near the Arch hall Fire Station around 0525 hours this morning (June 6). Fire officers were quickly on the scene to extinguish the flames, however, the nature and extent of injuries sustained by the driver of the vehicle are unknown.

Early Morning House Fire At Parris Gap

An early morning blaze at Parris Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael destroyed one house, extensively damaged a second and slightly damaged two others around 0424 hours today (June 4).

Ten officers with two fire tenders and a water tanker from Probyn Street under the command of Chief Fire Officer Wilfred Marshall, Divisional Officer Lloydson Phillips and Station Officer Tyrone Trotman responded to the blaze.
